- Alma Whitten received her B.S. degree in Computer Science and
- Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and will be
- entering the Ph.D. program in Computer Science at Carnegie
- Mellon University in September 1993. Her research plans are
- centered on human/computer interaction and machine learning.

- Robert McCartney is an assistant professor in the Department of
- Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Connecticut.
- His current research interests include case-based planning, legal
- reasoning systems, and commonsense knowledge representation. He was
- educated at the University of Michigan (B.S. and M.S. in Natural
- Resources) and Brown University (Sc.M. and Ph.D. in Computer Science).
