  1. Alma Whitten received her B.S. degree in Computer Science and
  2. Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and will be
  3. entering the Ph.D. program in Computer Science at Carnegie
  4. Mellon University in September 1993.  Her research plans are
  5. centered on human/computer interaction and machine learning.

  8. Robert McCartney is an assistant professor in the Department of
  9. Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Connecticut.
  10. His current research interests include case-based planning, legal
  11. reasoning systems, and commonsense knowledge representation.  He was
  12. educated at the University of Michigan (B.S. and M.S. in Natural
  13. Resources) and Brown University (Sc.M. and Ph.D. in Computer Science).
